About Smash Mouths
Smash Mouths is an independent project covering national politics. We make source-linked briefings from public reporting and official releases, with the goal of helping readers understand what happened and what to watch next.
How the briefings are made
We monitor public RSS feeds and government publication pages. AI tools help draft concise summaries and context from source material. Each briefing links to the original report; readers should use that source for the full record.
Some stories may be published automatically during an announced publishing trial. Automated summaries can contain mistakes or miss context. We label AI-assisted work and welcome corrections. A link to a source is not an endorsement of that source or of every claim it makes.
Editorial standards
We aim to distinguish documented facts from claims, attribute statements to the people or institutions making them, and avoid adding details that are not supported by our sources. We do not present official or campaign claims as independently verified facts. We correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.
